A regional airport generally serves smaller cities; these airports typically do not have customs & immigration facilities to process passengers between countries, making the overall unit price perhaps 10% to 15% less than major airports that do have these facilities. These airports normally have shorter runways, they are appropriate to handle short or medium haul aircraft and regional air traffic. Aircraft using these airports tend to be smaller business jets, private aircraft & regional airliners of both turboprop propelled and regional jetliner types.

This particular cost model details cost estimating benchmarks for the costs of constructing and or upgrading / revamping airport buildings, support systems & services, runways, taxiways, ramps, aircraft parking stands, & Architectural, Engineering & Construction Management Costs & Fees.
